My name is Dr. John C. Stanko (he/thon), and I am a first-generation scholar. I hold a doctorate in Political Science from Indiana University, and a master’s in Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies from the University of Kansas. My primary expertise is International Relations, particularly the foreign policies of centralized/centralizing states in Eurasia.
My specific research interests include non-coercive influence, the evolution of modern diplomatic activities, international sport and international higher education as components of foreign policy, and regime legitimization strategies. My work has been published in Foreign Policy Analysis, Political Communication, and Global Studies Quarterly.
